Project Life 2015 - Week Five

I have been so, so, so busy this last couple of weeks with teaching that my crafting has kind of been put aside. I am super excited about my new job, and feel really blessed, but it is just a new thing for myself and my family! I got some time today to finish up my week five, even with enough daylight to photograph it. I was planning on starting week six until I realized that I had not had the pictures printed yet - oops! I will probably get back to my 2014 album later today instead. On to week five!

This week, I used up the rest of my Studio Calico Double Scoop kit, at least the cards. I still have a lot of the embellishments left over, which I added to my stash. Some of the paper I used is from the Project 52 6x6 paper pad, and I received some new ephemera yesterday from a Scrapbook.com order, so I used those as well. I won a contest back in early January, and finally used my gift card! I also ordered some of the new Crate Paper rub ons from their Kiss Kiss line - I love these rub ons! They are definitely Valentine's Day themed, but can be used so many different ways. I had so much to scrap this week, so I used an insert. I love the style G page protectors, they are just perfect for when you have lots of extra pictures!

Week five, left, plus an insert:

Some close ups of my favorite elements:

The "love this" and the arrow are from the Crate Paper rub ons.

Week five, right, plus the other side of the insert:

For this pocket, I had this photo strip from the party that I wanted to include. I was not concerned about covering the pockets above it, because they were just our name tags from the event. I also included the parking garage ticket behind the envelope.

Well, that is it for week five. Hope you enjoyed it!

Project Life 2014 - Weeks Four and Five

So our snow day was quite productive. I managed to complete week four of my 2015 album (see previous post), and I also completed weeks four and five of my 2014 album! We are snowed in once again today, so I am going to try and complete week six of my 2014 album, and maybe get started on our Disney album. I really want to do week five for my 2015 album, but the pics are still at SAM's, and I am NOT going out in the snow for them, lol!

Onto the pages. I recently purchased the Studio Calico Double Scoop Project Life kit, so that is what I used for these pages. I am really trying to use what I have right now, and I am limiting my scrapbook purchases to embellishments/ephemera. I am not in need of anymore cards or stamp sets! Here is a pic of the kit:

What I was mostly after in that kit was the Pebbles alpha roller stamp. I purchased the entire kit for $10, shipped, which was less than the stamp alone on Amazon! I do love the entire kit though. The colors are beautiful, and those wood grain sequins are really fun! I added a few bits from my stash, along with some stamps. I did not have a whole lot of photos from these two weeks, so a full page and an insert were all I needed.

Thanks for looking!

Project Life 2015 Week Four - and a Life Zesters Challenge

We are snowed in today, so of course I took the opportunity to catch up on my Project Life! I completed my week four as part of the February Life Zesters Challenge - WOOD. I dug through my whole stash finding every bit of wood I could find that fit for this week. Wood veneer pieces, wooden sequins, and wood grain embellishments went onto my tray along with other bits of ephemera, stickers, and enamel dots. I used my Project 52 cards and paper pad for these pages. The embellishments are a random assortment from my stash. I dug out my stamps again, I really love what they add to the cards. Sorry folks, this post is picture heavy! LOL. Here is week four, left:

And some close ups of the wood pieces I used for this page:

And week four, right:

The x's are my neighbor's kids, the page does not really look like that :) And some close-ups of the wood elements on this page:

I had fun with this month's challenge! I still have some more pictures from our road trip to scrap, I think I will be making an insert for those, then I will move on to doing week four of 2014. Maybe if I get a ton of motivation, I will pick up my week five photos from SAM'S Club, and get REALLY caught up! I just love these unexpected days off. Let me know if you have any questions about my techniques, or products I used!

Project Life 2015 Week Three

This was a very busy week for us, I am so surprised I got anything creative done! We are having a major snowstorm right now, so I am hoping to start working on week four today. Of course, there is this little football game that is happening tonight, and we are supposed to have a party for it, but we will just have to see what the weather does. I am content to stay at my scrap table with my space heater!

This week, I challenged myself to only use my January Swag Bag from Paper Issues. I had already received my February Swag Bag, so I knew if I did not get it out, it would not get used right away! The Swag Bag is the only subscription I receive as of now, and I really love it. I had almost everything I needed to complete these two pages (I just had to add a couple of 4x6 cards) with even some embellishments left over. You seriously need to check it out! At $9.99, it has got to be the best bargain out there! They usually sell out quickly, but if you start a subscription, you get first dibs. There is no commitment to buy, but if you skip a month, you don't get to order early - you just have to remember to order once they go on sale. So far, I have ordered each kit since November. There is almost always a code for 20% off, just check the blog for the current code. I have checked out other subscription services, but most require a 6 month commitment, have cancellation fees, etc. I guess I am just afraid of commitment, lol. I have been able to purchase some of the Gossamer Blue and Studio Calico kits from a Facebook shop group I am part of, so I think I will stick with just Paper Issues for now! Some other kits that look good are Creative Retreat and Take Ten, but I have yet to order from either. I did purchase the September Creative Retreat kit from my Facebook shop and swap group, and it was super cute. I am mostly interested in embellishment kits right now, as my card supply is getting a little *cough* out of control...

Week three had a lot going on, including a dead car battery, a funny discovery, some yummy meals, home-cooked and not-so-home-cooked, time spent with family, a day to scrapbook, and the not so great allergic reaction!!!

On to this week's pages! For the left side, I used my weekly card from my Project 52 core kit, and cards and embellishments from the PI swag bag. I did have to add a couple of 4x6 cards to this side, as the PI kit does not contain a lot of 4x6 cards. I also tried (again) to use my stamps! I might have purchased three new sets this week - but hey, they were a good deal! :) I also used a couple of stickers from my stash for the "best meal ever" card, but all of the rest of the embellishments on this page are from the PI kit.

For the right side, I also used cards from my PI kit, except for the 4x6 in the bottom right corner. I was able to piece two of the 3x4 cards together for the bottom left corner. So many things I loved about these cards. First, the "you are loved" 4x6 worked perfectly for my story about how Kirby is having a hard time with me working full time. Second, the middle row right card says "chocolate nut" which worked perfectly for the chocolate bar Kirby ate. I just added "our dot the" with my Pebbles roller stamp, and doodled a box around "chocolate nut." Perfect. The only embellishments I added from my stash for this side was the triangle washi tape from CTMH, and the white photo stickers (MAMBI), everything else is from the PI kit. I still have embellishments left over!

I had a couple of extra pictures I wanted to add, so I used a CTMH 3x4 flip flap to add those:

I hope you enjoyed this week's pages! Challenge yourself this week to do something different, it was a lot of fun, and made me feel pretty creative.
